Play our lakes and reservoirs mapping quiz

Summertime might be fast becoming a distant memory, but did you find a break in the rain to enjoy the beautiful countryside on a staycation this year? Summertime tends to mean that people flock to the coast to make the most of the sea, but there are plenty of inland water features that draw visitors too.

Lakes and reservoirs are often in spectacular surroundings, we featured a lovely walk around Grasmere and Elterwater on the blog earlier this year. They can be a great opportunity to get out on a boat and see the sights from a different perspective – and, when they’re marked as safe places to bathe, they can be a great way to cool off on a hot, summers day.

We’ve picked eight reservoirs and lakes across Great Britain to test your knowledge of inland waterways. They’re shown on OS MasterMap Topography Layer. Let us know your answers on the blog.
