Free provision of sea tiles
Have you tried to display our contextual raster data and found that because the data only covers the mainland and islands of Great Britain, there are large blank areas at the edge of blue sea where coastal tiles meet areas of open sea?

Area coverage of 1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster showing white areas that contain no land and therefore are not supplied with the product
Following customer feedback we have now produced plain blue sea tiles for our raster products that matches the sea colour in coastal tiles, to enable users to ‘fill out’ more of the National Grid. This will give users improved display of the mapping, especially important when displaying online.
These files are all available free to download with the corresponding geo-referencing files for each format and style they are supplied in. They are available for the following products on our website:
OS VectorMap Local
OS VectorMap District
OS StreetView
1:10 000 Scale Colour Raster
1:25 000 Scale Colour Raster
1:50 000 Scale Colour Raster
You will need to download the actual sea tiles and the separate geo-referencing file for whichever GIS you have – as with all geo-referencing data files they should be stored in the same folder as the raster data to be read properly.
There are no separate world files for OS VectorMap Local as these are supplied as GeoTIFF. The sea tiles for OS VectorMap District are also supplied in GeoTIFF format so do not require separate georeferencing files; these will work with the current TIFF format of the OS VectorMap District product itself, which will also move to GeoTIFF from the next release.
